Connexis Search Group
About 140 qualified leads and about $355K in revenue on about $20K in ad spend, roughly a 17× return.
The challenge
Connexis was paying an agency about $3,000 a month to run its Google Ads. The agency’s approach was textbook, but it was wrong for the situation: the ads brought in job candidates, when what Connexis needed was hiring managers looking to fill positions. On top of that, the website was outdated.
What we did
In 2019, we took over both the website and the Google Ads from the agency, and refocused the ads on hiring managers. For years after that, we maintained their old, broken website and kept running their ads. In January 2026, we moved them to a new Webflow site, which cut software costs by about 97%.
The results
About 140 qualified leads and about $355K in revenue attributed, on about $20K in ad spend: roughly a 17× return on ad spend.
Where things stand
The life science and biotech ads were profitable, but they kept pulling in job candidates no matter how tightly they were targeted. Pathology searches are near impossible right now, so ads are paused. Since the move to the new Webflow site in January 2026, SEO brings in steady traffic.
